Estas familias&nbsp; están compuestas por individuos de diferentes especies. Es imprescindible para mi que todos los animales no humanos que aparecen en esta serie, sean considerados como uno más de la familia, que no sean “mascotas” y que no se ejerza ningún tipo de Castro https://esteladecastro.com/Resiliencia RESILIENCIA “Quiero que el mundo se pare, recapacite y &nbsp;vuelva a empezar” Hace dos años escribí estas palabras en una libreta. La compré para poner en ella las cosas que quería para mi vida.&nbsp; En marzo de 2020, el mundo se detiene, mi vida queda congelada por una pandemia. Durante semanas sentí que mi cuerpo pesaba demasiado, mi mente se bloqueaba, y el miedo y la incertidumbre me recorrían de pies a cabeza. Y en ese estado de incertidumbre me dediqué a observar detenidamente la luz que entraba de diferentes formas por las ventanas de mi casa. Pasé largas horas con mis perros y mis gatos. Disfruté de los paseos cortos en silencio que podía dar con ellos, solo escuchando el sonido de los pájaros, vi como la naturaleza se abría paso en primavera y como el cielo cambiada del gris al azul. vergüenza, cifra que se corresponde a las muertes de personas que han intentado llegar a Europa y que han sido contabilizadas desde el 1993 hasta 2023 por la agencia United for Intercultural Action. La mayoría de las muertes han sido en el Mediterráneo. Se calcula que solo una tercera parte de ellas están contabilizadas. Ante este drama, deicídí mirar a los ojos a personas que han huído de la guerra en Siria, del terrorismo presente casi cada día en paises como Afganistan, Pakistán o Irak. Personas que han huído perseguidos por sus gobiernos de países como Irán o Turquía.&nbsp; Seres humanos que huyeron del Congo por culpa de la guerra del Coltan. Adolescentes subsaharianos que caminaron durante años desde sus países de origen hasta llegar al nuestro, pasando por el infierno que viven en Marruecos, para poder hacer el último tramo en patera donde algunos de ellos vieron morir a familiares o amigos. Adolescentes que llegaron desde Senegal, Guinea Conakry, Mali, Nigería, Ghana o Costa de Marfil. Este proyecto nace de PHES “Fotografía Española Solidaria” en el que viajamos a cuatro países, Grecia, Serbia, Turquía y España. Quisimos acercar la fotografía a estas personas que están en un lugar de tránsito, atrapadas en un país en el que no desean vivir. Les hemos proporcionado cámaras desechables para que cuenten como es un día en su vida en ese espacio que habitan y que nada tiene que ver con su verdadero hogar. <img width="1000" height="1500" una dominación que reporta poder y privilegios a quien los ejerce. &nbsp;En el caso de los animales, el sistema humano los condena a vidas de explotación y padecimientos. Al no considerarlos seres de su misma especie, les es negada toda consideración moral. Los animales son reducidos a la categoría de cosas y recursos, en vez de ser respetados como individuos sintientes y conscientes, con capacidad de sufrir y disfrutar. Como dejan patente las fotografías de Estela de Castro que componen este trabajo, y las historias que llevan consigo, las formas de explotación, abuso, humillación y maltrato son innumerables. Casi toda actividad humana esconde el dolor de los no humanos, a través de esa segregación que se expresa de manera abrumadora, incluso cuando esas actividades parecen inocentes. La inmensa mayoría de los animales han sido convertidos en esclavos, pero los que ha fotografiado Estela de Castro han sido rescatados, liberados, salvados. Se les ha devuelto la consideración moral y los derechos que les habían sido negados y usurpados. Con cada uno de los seres retratados, se rescata también el respeto, la bondad y el tesón de quienes los han acogido, consolado y curado. En España se &nbsp;utilizan más de 800.000 animales al año para la experimentación, mientras que en el resto del mundo la suma supera los 115 millones. Cuando se cansaron de tenerla como “mascota” fue abandonada. Estar encerrado en pequeñas jaulas le generó conductas estereotipadas y le llevó a automutilarse, arrancándose compulsivamente las plumas, un comportamiento derivado del estrés y la cautividad. Su falta de atractivo para el público los condenó a vivir en sótanos internos, donde la falta de espacio y la ausencia de luz solar afectaron a su salud mental y comenzaron a agredirse entre ellos.La falta de libertad merma sus habilidades sociales, emocionales y físicas, y les hace sufrir innumerables traumas de por vida. Además la vida en un circo es una vida itinerante donde los animales pasan la mayor parte del tiempo viajando, en condiciones insalubres de habitabilidad, con temperaturas extremas y total ausencia de su hábitat y relaciones sociales. En los anos 80 se importaron de forma masiva víctimas del mascotismo y muchas acabaron siendo abandonadas. Hoy se han naturalizado y adaptado al entorno. Ella nació, como tantas otras, mientras el rebaño pastaba, sin ningún tipo de ayuda ni atención. La madre, por supervivencia y porque está en su naturaleza seguir al grupo, abandonó a la intemperie a su bebé. Milka consiguió sobrevivir y fue rescatada aun con el cordón umbilical. Sin embargo, al público que compra estos animales no se le informa de que para poder comprar una tortuga han muerto diez por el camino. Había pasado toda su vida encerrada en una pequeña jaula viviendo sobre sus propios excrementos, sin poder caminar ni ver la luz del sol. Cuando fue rescatada por Fundación Animal Rescue, había perdido uno de sus ojos, tenía la mandíbula partida y no sabía caminar. Cuando dejó de ser rentable, fue de nuevo vendido a otro zoo donde pasó más de quince años atrapado en un habitáculo acristalado, sin zonas donde resguardarse de las miradas de los visitantes. El largo historial de maltrato dejó en él una profunda huella tanto a nivel físico como emocional. El 93% de los huevos proceden de gallinas explotadas y hacinadas en granjas industriales, sometidas a ciclos de luz artificial de hasta 21 horas. Los pollitos que nacen macho son triturados vivos porque no valen para la industria del huevo. Solo es España mueren asesinados con minutos de vida unos 40 millones cada año. El terreno del abuso, crueldad, humillación, sometimiento, dolor y muerte al que millones de animales son sometidos por el ser humano cada segundo en el mundo, en inimaginable. Con ello siente que tiene el derecho de encerrar animales salvajes dentro de una especie de maqueta llamada Zoo. Un mundo irreal que ha creado con la excusa de la conservación de algunas especies y la educación en el respeto hacia los animales. Pero es una educación erronea , ya que los niños y niñas lo único que aprenden es que el ser humano tiene derecho de privar a los animales de su libertad en su propio beneficio. Esta falta de libertad provoca conductas esteriotipadas y repetitivas generadas por el estrés, la soledad y la apatía, dando lugar a un síndrome llamado Zoocosis. Durante más de dos años hemos acudido a varios Zoos, principalmente el Zoo de Madrid y hemos podido descubrir en primera persona como la mayoría de los animales padecen este síndrome.
